Founded within Boogertman and Partners Architects, FuturePart is the creative engine enabling rigorous research and experimental design thinking within practice.
Through our process driven and synergistic approach to projects, we gather the best insights and foster future thinking.
We demonstrate the value in work across fields to develop a shared discourse and co-learning through knowledge sharing. We are both contextual and conceptual. We are bold in our vision, with a strong belief in design as an agent of change.
Our services are divided into 3 areas of activity which all have some form of activity centred around knowledge within the built environment.
ARCHIVE – Knowledge Capture. Document existing and developing in-house expertise and knowledge. This may cover deep experience on engineering and facades built over 20 years or new areas of exploration that are related to a specific project, for e.g. education typologies suitable for hot Savannah climate conditions.
INSIGHTS – Knowledge Gather. Activity that may range from workshops and possible immersions in diverse social and spatial contexts to desktop research. All of which informs decision making and design in the built environment.
RESEARCH – Knowledge Production. Rigorous research that grapples with some of the most difficult questions facing the built environment in Africa today.
A project begins by capturing an idea. Each idea is formulated as a 300-word overview along with a visual. Each month the core team of FuturePart review all ideas and based on potential client input, partnership engagement and specific opportunity the idea presents, it is fed into one of the 3 areas outlined above.
